The newest X-series smartphones, the Vivo X90 and X90 Pro have included a number of upgrades over their predecessors. The two phones have superb cameras and quick charging periods thanks to MediaTek's top Dimensity 9200 CPU.
Only the battery statistics and camera sensors of the two phones are unique.6.78-inch curved AMOLED panels with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz frame rate are standard on the X90 and X90 Pro. The screens produce 10-bit (1 billion) colors and can reach a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits. Like the Pro+ version, the screen has a curved edge. While the Pro model has IP68 resistance, the standard model is really only IP64 resistant.
Software and Hardware
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is featured on the Pro+ variant, although MediaTek's Dimenisty 9200 SoC powers the standard X90 and X90 Pro. This is the most powerful flagship chip from MediaTek for Android phones, and it is a strong contender to the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Both devices support 8 to 12 GB of RAM, while the X90 Pro gives 256 GB and 512 GB of storage options as opposed to the normal X90's 128 GB and 512 GB.
While the global variations will move to Funtouch OS, Chinese models will use Origin OS 3 on top of Android 13.
Cameras
The camera of the X90 has a 50MP Sony IMX866 primary sensor with an f/1.75 lens and OIS. Similar to the Pro+ model, the X90 Pro features a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor with a large f/1.75 aperture. The camera has two lens options: a 12MP IMX663 with 2x optical zoom for telephoto shots, and a 12MP IMX663 with the ultrawide camera. Moreover, the V2 ISP chip for image processing performs better in low light.
The identical 32MP selfie camera with 4K video recording was included on all three of the phones in the series.
Pricing and Batteries
However offering faster charging than the Pro+ model at 120W (up from 80W), the Vivo X90 and X90 Pro do not support wireless charging. While the latter chooses a 4870 mAh battery, the former has a 4810 mAh battery.
The Vivo X90 and X90 Pro have starting pricing of $518 and $700 in China, respectively. Pricing will likely boost globally.
